We offer tailored solutions for the vehicle industry in soundproofing, insulation, vibration damping and sealing – from design to implementation in close cooperation with our customers.

Customized Solutions with a Focus on Sustainability
When a vehicle manufacturer designs a cabin, a knowledgeable and flexible partner is needed. “We know how to design and implement for example cabins, so that they are comfortable for users. Soundproofing, sealing, and damping are important in the cabin,” says Antti Filpus, Sales Manager for the Vehicle segment at NMC Cellfoam. “Additionally, we can offer our customers packaging solutions for logistical needs. For example, when vehicles or parts are transported from one place to another, protection is the best way to prevent damage during shipping,” adds Filpus.
It is also important that the upholstered surface is not only functional but also visually appealing. “The surface does not have to be gray; we can implement it according to the customers’ wishes, for example with a red interior,” explains Filpus.
Both plants Cellfoam AB & OY have ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certificates. Cellfoam AB has also IATF 16949 certificate.
Planned collaboration
Customers in the vehicle industry include not only car and truck manufacturers, but also equipment manufacturers in the mining, forestry, material handling, and construction sectors, as well as garden vehicles, leisure and work boats, and even snowmobiles. “We create customer-specific solutions and packages that add value for our customers,” clarifies Filpus.
NMC Cellfoam’s strength lies particularly in design competence. “We have a very large design team whose resources and expertise are at our customers’ disposal. We do everything from prototypes to serial production, and the quantities can vary from one to several hundred thousand,” explains Filpus.
Continuous dialogue ensures that the solutions are correct. “We also seek cost-effectiveness at the same time. We ensure that the selected materials and solutions are optimal for the customer in terms of both functionality and cost. Our collaboration is very deep and is based on real relationships with our customers,” emphasizes Filpus.
Sustainable materials
NMC Cellfoam’s strategic thinking emphasizes sustainability. All new projects focus on sustainable materials, such as recycled PET fibers, textile fibers, and wood fibers, which can be used especially in soundproofing to replace polyurethane foam.
“Even though our group produces standardized foam solutions, we as a company focus on acquiring the best possible customer-specific materials for our customers’ needs. We also strive to consider the sustainability of the materials in every project,” says Filpus.
Future trends
3D thermoforming is now a trendy technology. 3D thermoforming enables easier and faster installation and improves the recyclability of materials by reducing the use of adhesives, films, and paper.
Wood fiber is growing rapidly as a sustainable raw material. “It is still in the testing phase with us, but there is interest in it,” explains Filpus. Wood fiber is soft, flexible, and porous, making it a very potential material for soundproofing solutions. “It’s only a matter of time before it starts replacing other materials to a greater extent.”
